Youth Day

Today we remember the many schoolgoers who lost their lives in the 1976 uprising and other anti-apartheid conflicts.

We give thanks for those who stood against a racist system and we treasure the freedom that was secured by the sacrifice of many.
We lift up our prayers to the Lord for the youth of today.  Our democratic country faces many challenges and the education system still needs urgent reforms. May God’s people set the example of mentorship, generosity and inclusivity, seeking to open doors of opportunity for all young people to be equipped for a productive future.

May the Lord strengthen the witness of young believers to be fearless servants of Christ and draw people to the Saviour.  Lord, in your mercy, turn the hearts of young people to yourself and through them grow strong communities of faith in our land. Amen
